IDI over its 15 years in business has established itself as a leader in digital imaging services and products for Libraries, Museums, Historical Societies, Corporations and Universities. IDI offers scanning of documents, books, periodicals, photos, slides, negatives, 16mm film, 8mm film, videos, and much more. IDI has developed and markets Digi-Find-It, the web hosting portal to attractively display and search digital collections. We will also demonstrate a preview of our new offering; The NJ Historical Portal which will have the most extensive collection of searchable NJ history in one web site.
IDI over the last year has digitized the Gilder Collection at the New York Historical Society including original copies of the Emancipation Proclamation, the 13th Amendment and The Declaration of Independence. In August we completed scanning The History of Flight consisting of 1 million images for the Smithsonian Institute Air and Space Museum. In 2014 Ellen Dunlop, Director of the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester, Massachusetts won the 2013 National Humanities Medal presented by President Barack Obama at the White House for the preservation of American History of which IDI digitized 9 million images.
Here is what Hsihsi Chung principal librarian of the Metuchen Public Library had to say about our last seminar in the fall:
"I was very pleased and enjoyed very much participating in the seminar and tour the state-of-the-art facility held by Innovative Document Imaging/Digital Memory Media. It was absolutely fascinating to see how the digitization process works. Metuchen Public Library has already proposed a digitization and preservation project and scheduled a Digital Memory Media Day, a fundraising event, in March for people to digitize and preserve their treasured memories. We look forward to working with IDI collaboratively and making our digitization and preservation project successful."
